Tattle is a cross-functional team with deep expertise in full-stack engineering, machine learning, UX design and policy research. We take on paid collaborations and consultations that align with our mission. Typically, these are projects that stake bigger participation for people on the social web or help build understanding of our algorithmically mediated world.
What we bring
Demonstrated expertise in conducting original research, building maintainable open source products involving diverse stakeholders. Our team works closely with clients, understanding their specific needs, and organizational setup and capabilities. Aligned with our values, we focus on solutions that can be sustained by the organization without needing long-term reliance on Tattle.

Past collaborations
We work with newsrooms, civil society organisations, researchers, and platforms who need a technical research or product partner with domain expertise — not just a vendor. Engagements range from short consultations to multi-month builds.
Annotation Software for Archives at NCBS
Annomilli is an archival annotation platform that helps archivists import, annotate, and export EAD-based collections while preserving open standards and interoperability.
Software for Psychologists at Monk Prayogshala
Monk Prayogshala designed a study on how monetary and vanity incentives affect social media sharing. We built the software and data pipeline to run this study with ~1,000 participants online.
Investigative Reporting with Boom Live
We collaborated with Boom Live on an investigative piece on nudify apps — combining OSINT, policy research, and security analysis to expose harms in the generative AI ecosystem.
Github Standardized Metrics
Through one-on-one interviews and focus group discussions with researchers and practitioners from public policy, international development and economics research, we conceptualized a list of metrics from the public activity on Github that could be helpful for the three disciplines
